建立于一百年前的埃克赛特疗养院曾经收治许多心理有障碍的青少年，此后入院治疗的病患逐渐攀升，医疗条件则每况愈下，甚至不断爆出青少年被虐待致死的丑闻。如今该疗养院早已废弃，此地闹鬼的传闻却越传越凶，当然这无法吓退那些寻求刺激、胆大妄为的年轻人。某天，帕特里克（KellyBlatz饰）和好友罗里（MichaelOrmsby饰）、诺尔斯前往该疗养院参加这里举行的狂欢派对。年轻人们寻欢作乐，各取所需。一夜狂欢过后，从酒精麻醉中渐渐醒来的年轻人们闲聊打屁。稍后众人挑战禁忌，举行招魂仪式，结果见到了超自然的一幕。未过多久，罗里仿佛被恶魔附体一般狂暴凶悍，而更为恐怖的经历还等在后面……

　　1945年8月，已进入尾声的战争蔓延到了我国西南山区。一所平静的修道院里，见习修女黎姐妹（舒淇 饰）与秦姐妹（吴辰君 饰）性格活泼，不合规范，所幸和蔼的老院长对这对儿山村遗孤始终照顾有加。                                                                    　　8月10日，一队中国军人带着受伤的战友向修道院求助，他们由于不熟悉地形迷路，炸毁日军火炮阵地的任务一时也无法完成，黎姐妹与秦姐妹自告奋勇担任向导，不谙世事的两人很快见识了战争的残酷，随这支小分队一起经历了同日军的遭遇战。黎姐妹不忍抛弃遇害的乡亲尸身，被埋伏的日军抓获，战士们涉险将其救出，但却暴露了行踪。战士们成功完成了任务，而等待他们的却是日军对修道院的报复，虽然处于人数劣势，但他们毅然决定出击……
